A review for Love Me Two Times

Can you see me jumping up and down?

Well, it coldn't be over better news, I got the first review for Love Me Two Times.

" Some women can totally change their mood by simply making a change in their hairstyle. Wear it up and it's sophistication, down and it's carefree fun. But, when Paul Barry doesn't notice the change from down to ponytail, and his date goes from Mary to Marion, he's in for a wild courtship in J.H.Bogran's Love Me Two Times...it is packed with laughs and woes as Paul falters now and then in keeping his women straight. Two-timing a woman was never this much hard work!"

Thank you very much to Novelspot for taking the time to review my story.

Title: Fox & Hound
Author: Amber Leigh Williams
Publisher: Red Rose Publishing
ISBN: 1-60435-039-3 (978-1-60435-039-5)
Genre: Mainstream Romantic Adventure
Length: Novel (81,511 words)
Price: $5.99

In the world's most romantic city, fates collide in the most unexpected way and two of the world's most elusive jewel thieves are forever changed by a Louvre heist gone wrong.

After three years in prison, Todd goes after the woman who ruined his life, seeking revenge and the diamond she stole from him. He learns that Celestia doesn't have the diamond either. She was used by her partner, master thief Tito Bandero.

Todd and Celestia form an unlikely partnership to take back what is theirs and redeem themselves. Bandero is planning to steal three of the world's most coveted diamonds, but the ones he wronged—Fox and Hound—plot to take them first.

What Todd and Celestia don't count on? The power of attraction. When the quest grows dangerous, which will they choose: payback or each other?

*Excerpt:

Celestia was leaning over a gold-carved jewelry box when she heard Todd’s voice behind her.

“This place is a museum!” he exclaimed, making her turn swiftly, shock and fire in her eyes.

“What the hell are you doing down here?” she demanded. “You’re supposed to be out.”

“I’ve been out,” he said, stepping forward but stopping when she shined the light in his eyes. He staggered back, holding a hand up to block it. “For the past six hours.”

“What time is it?” she asked, shocked.

He glanced at his watch. “Almost six o’clock.”

“Jesus,” she muttered. “You had to go sneaking around the house, didn’t you?”

“I didn’t think I’d hit the bank.” He stepped over to a diamond-encrusted box. “A guy could really cash in here.”

She crossed the room and slapped a hand over his before he could open the lid. “Don’t touch anything.”

“Oh, come on,” he begged. “Don’t tell me I can’t explore.”

“Forget it,” she snapped, shoving him toward the trapdoor. “Get out!”

He took her wrists before she could push him again and snatched her against him. His arms snaked around her waist before she could take a breath. He held her to him tight as her flashlight clattered to the floor.

She swallowed hard, realizing her lips were tingling. “Let me go.”

“You’re quivering.” He smirked and ran a hand up her spine to cup the nape of her neck.

Chills shuddered down the length of her body. “I’m not.” Her voice shook. She hated it. “What are you doing?” she asked almost fearfully when his lips brushed over her jaw. Her heart pounded hard. She couldn’t suck in a breath. The room was stuffy. Her head clouded. “What are you doing?” she asked again when his face pressed into the side of her neck.

Feeling the Love...In Thirds!

Although Valentine's Day is over, you can still feel the love, in thirds...

Shara Azod and I have written another holiday anthology. This one is about Valentine's Day and love, but not your typical boy meets girl action.

These two stories are about an already established love, Tamika and Ron in "The Conceirge" have been married for ten years. Joaquin, Mikki, and Kaito in "Three of Hearts" have worked together for numerous years.

Love isn't stagnant. It grows, evolves, and shifts. In Menage a Valentine love soldifies and bends conventional thought to the tune of these hearts.

A Tour of Eureka Point by Betty Ann Harris

If you drive about one hundred miles up the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco, you'll come to the dramatically beautiful historic seaside town of Eureka, California. If you take Cliffside Drive Northwest from the town of Eureka, you'll see the Pacific Ocean on one side, and steep hills and cliffs on the other, which makes for a dramatic and breathtaking scene. Eventually you'll come to Eureka Point and the lighthouse. It is rumored that the ghosts of old sea captains whose ships were wrecked on the rocky shores, still roam the cliffsides. If you walk around the lighthouse grounds, the sound of the surf crashing onto the rocky shore can be almost deafening. Sometimes the sea spray will splash you, leaving the sticky residue of salt water on your skin. Venture out to the Point in the early evening so you can watch the sun plummet into the sea, and you'll sware that you hear a sizzle as the orange sun sinks into the water. Lovers often come to Eureka Point and share a passionate kiss in the moonlight as it shimmers on the water below. The scenery and surroundings are breathtaking. This is where the story in my book, Eureka Point, takes place. Go ahead, get swept away and visit Eureka Point today!

Mini interview on Havana Holiday

My newest story is called Havana Holiday, set in 1930s Cuba, released through Red Rose Publishing.

Havana Holiday by Jennifer Mueller
Is it true, what happens in Havana stays in Havana? Five women are about to find out...or are they?

Five stories, 4 days, 3 nights, 2 times the fun, and 1 heck of a good time. Dahlia, Eve, Nora, Alice, and Marianne; when five women who work together in depression era Boston save up for a trip of a lifetime to decadent Havana, anything can happen. With seductive Latin men and rich vacationers at every turn who wouldn't enjoy dancing till dawn, the parties, the nightclubs, the beach, the gambling, and there’s always more than one side to a story.

Who can ask for more--fun, sun and hot men to tempt and tease?
http://redrosepublishing.com/bookstore/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=70&products_id=93
***

Where do you find your inspiration for your characters? Your settings? Your storylines?

I tell the story differently than most. It is five stories from the five women all telling about the same four day period. I actually wrote Eve's story as a stand alone, but was told it was too short for a publisher, so I went, well heck! There are four more women and all sorts of things hinted at but never explained because it was all Eve's story. In looking at all the resources, several mentioned the old guide books for Havana and so each of the women ended up with one of the entries as their theme. Eve is dancing, Dahlia is music, Marianne is gambling, Nora is naughty nights, and Alice is seeing the island. Their adventures all mingle together though. You can't read it thinking that they are all separate, characters pop up from one to another, plotlines too. Dahlia for instance is being followed and almost kidnapped, but only by reading the other stories do you find out the whole story.

How did you choose the 1930s for your story's setting?

I never wanted to write about the revolution and all that. With it still in essence being an issue, it seemed a hot topic. But 20 years before that, Havana was a decadent city, full of anything goes. It really is what leads up to the whole revolution in fact. Batista the president let the American mafia in to run the casinos because they had lost so much business due to becoming so corrupt, and no one wanted to go. Batista was living like a king on kick backs and profits from the mafia-run casinos, while most of the country had nothing, and they fought back. By the end of the 1930s, Havana was literally a mafia town. They held big meetings of different families even. It seemed a perfect time to really write a story.

What is the hardest part of setting a story in this time period?

Well there are all numbers of people alive today who would still remember the era. I was worried all the time that I would get something wrong and be told so. I found out I have a half Cuban woman on my Yahoo group and I asked her to look it over for the Spanish. When she was done she told me it sounded exactly like the stories her parents told her about the old country so I think I got it right and my Cuban slang should be authentic too.

Thank you so much for having me, and please visit my website to see more about all my books. www.jennifermuellerbooks.com

Cassie's Sheikh

I have been posting on various websites today, and I took a look at amazon, UK and USA. I was amazed to find Cassie's Sheikh up at the USA site available on Kindle. I knew Wendi was putting her books up a few at a time but didn't really expect mine would be there just yet. I was thrilled to see it with the others, and so available. I am tempted to buy Kindle for myself but am not sure it would work in the UK. It may just be for American sockets as yet, but I am going to ask my IT man about it.

I have also found Cassie's Sheikh on Fictionwise. At the moment it is number ten in the Red Rose Publishing current list. I am not sure whether that means it is selling well or not. I shall have to wait and see. It was certainly nice to see it at amazon.

On the UK amazon they are now listing my Anne Herries and Linda Sole books together. I am not sure if this is a help to sales or not. I wondered what was going on at first, but I see that my mystery series is selling well. I have my fingers crossed for Cassie's Sheikh!

Best wishes to you all, Linda

Love Me Two Times

More than the title of a song, Love Me Two Times is the plea of Paul Barry.
Mary and Marion Simpson are not twins, but they share more that they are willing to admit. A blind date blossoms into a full relation ship that includes marriage, after a fashion. The old adage of “love conquers all” is seriously put to the test as Paul falls for both Mary and Marion until he realizes that they are only one woman suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder.

EXCERPT:

Karen sat on the couch right next to me and turned to face me. She sighed and said: “Okay, tell me what happened.”

I retold the story I had relived in my mind a thousand times: the great dinner date at Erich’s the night before, the fun day at the park, the hotdogs with the beer, how we had strolled back to her apartment holding hands, the courage I gathered to kiss her good-night and finally how Mary had reacted after my comment on her biting my still swollen lower lip from her previous kiss the night before. At this point, Karen raised her hand and asked the last question I had expected.

“How was her hair?”

“Gorgeous,” I said, annoyed by the interruption, “but what’s that got to do with anything?”

“Sorry,” she said giggling, “I meant, was her hair down? Or was she wearing a ponytail?”

The rephrasing of the question shed no light for me on why it was relevant, but I responded anyway.

“Down, I love her hair cut, reminds me of Farrah Fawcett, except brunette.”

“And the night before?”

“She was wearing a bun with one of those oriental sticks to hold it up.”

“Well, then she was upset when you complained about the bite. She thought you had been kissing another girl,” she pronounced with an expression as if this should have been obvious all along.

“Oh, I am a fool. Of course, that must have been it.” I retorted cynically. “Just to make sure we are on the same page, can you tell me why?”

“On Saturday you dated Mary, who very unusually bit you farewell. You must have caused a very good impression. This morning you spent the day with Marion.”

Some time later, Karen confessed she could not stop smiling every time she remembered the blank expression on my face when she told me this.

“O…kay…” I said very slowly, waiting on her to explain further.

“She’s sick, Paul,” she informed me.

Excerpt from "Crossing Faeryland"

I'd like to tease you with an excerpt from my upcoming novel, "Crossing Faeryland"...

Excerpt: Jake and Marnie

Cautiously, Jake moved closer to the pair and closed his eyes, recalling the meditation exercises he hadn’t practiced in years. Connections to his physical self dropped away. His mind soared. He’d forgotten the heady sensations of freedom. Petty concerns seemed far away and insignificant. With difficulty, Jake turned his attention to the inhabitants of the barn.

Before she slammed down her shields, Jake felt himself connect with Marnie and noted her surprise at the speed and ease at which he’d managed psychic communications again. He remembered the pleasure he’d felt communicating this way with her and how much harder it could be with others.

Elusive, other ephemeral thoughts and desires passed through her mind. Jake looked away afraid to hope, but more afraid to have her see the hope in him.
He touched the consciousness of the stallion first, feeling the strength of character and nobility of purpose. The mare’s gaiety and sense of humor caught his fancy and he found himself eager to spend more time with both of them.

“I thank you all for your gracious offer of aid in helping us to cross your lands in safety. Be assured that I consider myself in your debt.”

Jake felt his control slipping as the Unicorns accepted his gratitude and expressed pleasure in furthering their acquaintance. They too looked forward to future “talks”.

As Jake drifted away, he again felt Marnie’s presence, surprised now at the pleasure and fondness he detected there. This would be something to ponder later…alone.

Returning to himself abruptly, he staggered and shook his head. Wincing he put his fingertips on his temples rubbing at the spikes of pain. “I’d forgotten about this part.”

Marnie grabbed his arm to steady him and remarked, “If you had practiced, it wouldn’t be like this.”

Jake straightened and watched her steadily. “There didn’t seem to be much reason to.”

Stung, Marnie withdrew quickly and touched her fingertips to her lips. She backed away her eyes wide. Jake watched thoughts chase across her face—wonder, fear, confusion—before she wiped away all emotion.

He wanted to reach for her, even had his hand partially extended, but she turned away and returned to grooming the Unicorns. He glided closer nearly touching her until she stopped her brushing and swung to face him.

He reached for her again. This time she didn’t pull away. Raising his hand to her face, he brushed aside loose tendrils to stroke her cheek. “You’re even lovelier than I remembered.”

She remained motionless, expressionless, staring into his face, oblivious to the stroking of his hand and the scrutiny of his searching, roaming eyes. The path his gaze took eventually crossed with hers and locked. For countless moments and a split second, an eternity and an instant, they met on a level that mapped beyond the physical but nowhere in reality.

I thought that I’d imagined your beauty and grace. I thought that the attraction would disappear like the dream that it had seemed to be,” he didn’t say.

I thought that I’d never see you again,” she never replied.

She opened her mouth to speak, then frowned and turned away to groom the Unicorns once more. “We leave at daylight, even if the Little Princess is not here.”

He dropped his arm and watched her for a moment. She turned to face him, but any trace of what she’d been thinking or feeling, she managed to put away. He sighed temporarily defeated.

“She’ll be here.” Jake made his way to the door and paused. Turning to face her, he warned, “Oh, and Marnie,”

She paused in brushing Glitter and looked up at him. “I would call her Cat if I were you. She has a distinct dislike, right now, for being reminded of her place in life.”

She shrugged and returned to her task. He watched her a moment then turned to leave. At the door, he paused and turned to face her. Marnie stopped in mid-stroke and looked at him questioningly.

“Something else?”

He smiled. “Yeah, there is.” Walking around Glitter, he took the currycomb out of her loose grip and laid it on the stall. “I have to know.”
She opened her mouth to speak, but he covered her lips with his, snaking an arm around her waist and cupping the back of her head with his other hand. All the broken pieces—his heart, his soul—slid back into place as he fit his body to hers.

Hope you enjoyed your peek!

Good Reads for Valentine's Day

Married for 16 years, going steady for 5 years before that, friends for 3 years before that. That's 24 years, so we have to work pretty hard to make sure Valentine's Day still holds its magic.

Today, as I prepare for our special dinner, my thoughts turn to all the books that make romance happen for me:

  • Jane Beckenham's "Hiring Cupid" (Now, all she had to do was play the part and keep her heart closed. She had no time for foolish love games. Love got you nowhere. Her family was a prime example of love’s undoing.)
  • Erich Segal's "Love Story" (What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful. And brilliant. That she loved Mozart and Bach. And the Beatles. And me. )
  • Jenny Crusie's "Welcome to Temptation" (He looked like every glossy frat boy in every nerd movie ever made, like every popular town boy who'd ever looked right through her in high school, like every rotten rich kid who'd ever belonged where she hadn't.
My mama warned me about guys like you
    .)
  • Elizabeth Berg's "Say When" (Ellen, he thought, and the name seemed to him to hold everything he might possibly want to say to her.)

Raine McIntyre, "Crossing Faeryland"

I’m a new writer for Red Rose Publishing and very proud to be here. Since most of you are unfamiliar with my work, and me, I’d like to spend a few minutes describing my terribly boring life.

In my spare time, I work as a Computer Analyst for a large toy manufacturer. I spend my time babysitting websites and troubleshooting problems with them. Like pets, I also get to take care of the servers living in the company’s web farms, seeing that they get the care and attention they need. (Psst! Given half a chance, they’ll run wild, pooping and chewing on all the well-behaved machines.)

I suppose I don’t have to tell you how much of my time I spend fantasizing about things having nothing to do with toys or computers. Although, I do have one recurring fantasy about the toy soldiers in Babes in Toyland marching out to battle the Evil Windows Giant.

In one fell swoop, the behemoth annihilates the soldiers with the Blue Screen of Death. Fear not, though. The toys send in a Trojan horse who wreaks havoc, bringing down the giant from within.

My mother tells me that she shouldn’t have been so stringent with my toilet training, while my kids just shake their heads and tell me to get some sleep. My dogs love me, though.

I have four Yorkies. I had five, but one of them died last Sunday. I cried all day, and then I went to work the next day and cried. I thought that with a pack of them, I wouldn’t hurt so much when it was their time. But it’s like people—they’re not interchangeable.

My love of animals, most especially dogs (and anything doggy like wolves), colors most of my writing. I’m particularly fond of the idea that animals may be like us, but are far nobler.

My Shapeshifters, be they wolf, panther, or dragon, are always the heroes. Being that they’re half-human, however, they do have pack mates who act up now and then. Faeries are the same way, don’t you think?

“Crossing Faeryland”, coming soon from Red Rose Publishing, explores the “what if” world of possibilities of a future where mankind no longer rules all. Come explore the world of Terrantoo and sit a spell.

Hi Everyone

This is the first time I have blogged here, though I have other blogs where you may have seen me. I write for Red Rose Publishing as Linda Sole. I also write for Severn House as Linda Sole, and as Anne Herries for Severn House and Harlequin Mills & Boon.

My work ranges from romance to saga and crime, and I enjoy ringing the changes. At the moment I have a book out called Cassie's Sheikh with RRP and I shall soon have another book called A Kind Of Loving with RRP. This is a book about an older woman whose marriage is in difficulty. She has just acheived her ambition to open an antique shop in England, but she is having to cope with all kinds of problems in her life; it is moving and very emotional. Someone told me that when they proofed it the book made them cry and think about the things we do in our lives and how what we choose makes us take one way or the other.

I hope you will all read the books and enjoy them and I shall come back and post another time.

Best wishes, Linda

Coming Soon to Red Rose Publishing.....

Hi,

I am a newly signed author at Red Rose Publishing. I have an upcoming release entitled "When Mariah Smiles". My story is a mixture of the modern day "Cinderella" and the age old "marriage of convenience".
My heroine was the target of teasing and taunting by Eva and her "cronies" in high school. As a result, Mariah would spend hours sketching and designing fashions. Today she is a well-known fashion designer. Her dream is to have complete control over all her designs. My hero is a self-made success story who has found himself in a financial predicament. Travis' dream is to regain control of his newly purchased cruise ship. His father has agreed to help them both...if they marry. Eva returns with a dream of her own.. to take Mariah's new husband.

....Eva continued, “Now she has to go and marry some big shot millionaire. Anthony was well off and I scored pretty big in the divorce settlement. Do you know that my mom was actually proud? She is always bragging about how Eva got this or Eva got that in her divorce decree. “Now she has to go and marry some big shot millionaire or something. I finally beat Mariah at something. Now she comes back and marries better. I can’t let her get away with that.”
“Eva, I hate to break it to you, but she already has.” chimed in Sharica.
“I wouldn’t go betting my implants on that honey.”, stated Eva in a voice dripping with venom.
“Let it go girl.”, Lindsay begged.
“All my life my mother has said the only thing I could do was pull men. I never got A’s. But I always got my man. And now, I’m gonna get hers...."

I am still awed by the opportunity to work with the talented authors at RRP and its' dedicated CEO, Wendi. She has given me the chance to make my dreams come true.

Dragon Heat will be debuting this month!

My first novel will be debuting this month at Red Rose Publishing at the ened of this month, and I have to tell you that I can't wait. Wendi, the editor-in-chief here at Red Rose, just let me know that it will be released February 28th.
Yay!!

Here is a quick blurb for all you lovebugs out there:

Dragons lead secret lives. How do you think the magic has lived this long? The have used their magic to mimic humans like chameleons, they live almost normal lives. Dragons are peculiar creatures and untrusting to outsiders, they are marked from childhood as dragons. But the outside world, knows them as life servants to the royal house of Sinclair. They do not leave the Island of Skye. They do not leave the walls of their homeland without the approval of their clan.

But it so happens that one day a young woman was stolen away and she had a child. The mother died young and the child had only her father to guide her. Alyssa Hawkins grew up to never know her heritage or where she came from.

It was not until her father’s death that she returned to the Island of Skye. Then her world was violently over turned. It was one unfortunate event after another that led her to train as a warrior woman with the House of the Elisaid. The cursed descendants of Druids, these brave women lived the life of a warrior. It was the perfect place for Alyssa to plan out her revenge on the man who killed her father. She lived there a year training and practicing her skills as a magician, waiting for the day to take her revenge. Nowhere in her life did that leave room for a man.

One night everything changed when Prince Xanther from the house of Sinclair made a visit to the House of the Elisaid. He recognized Alyssa for the Dragon she was. He claimed her as his, and vowed to never let her go.

****

Ever since the beginning, when I listened to the characters voices in my head and listened to their story unfold, I knew it was a story that had to be told. I wish it were simple, and that it could be one book, but with the cursed druid descendants and the dragons each vying for my attention, I have many more stories to tell beside this one, and look forward to several more stories to come.

With my schedule and my self imposed writing deadlines, I am not sure how long it will be before their stories are heard, but time is every writer's worst enemy. I have too much to read and too little time.

Please visit my website to learn more about my other stories and my current work in progress.

Lots of Love

Will the cop in him be more?

Romance writer Kissa “Bri” Collins tried not to notice how unbelievably handsome the model was the second he sauntered in horribly late to her model search. Dark brown hair with natural highlights brushed the collar of his white-t-shirt, compelling gray eyes held hers as she tried to keep her composure as his deep rich voice apologized for being late.

Never being involved with a case that he couldn't handle FBI agent Forbes Huntington takes risks for a living. In the fifteen years he has been an agent there hasn't been a job that he hadn't used his strength, charm or good looks to get solved.

So, he wasn't worried about this new case that his boss assigned him to. How hard could it be posing as a cover model for a romance novel to catch a banker robber? Forbes thought he had everything under control until he walked late into the modeling auditions and spotted the woman
of his dreams, his soul mate.

Now how could he pretend to be something he wasn't and arrest her only living family member?

When all he wanted to do was risk everything he had for a taste of her perfect mouth?
